Traffic Concerns

Traffic in this area presents significant safety concerns due to vehicles entering and exiting Silk Hope Road, Stagecoach Road, Harris Grove Church, nearby farms, and private driveways onto the heavily trafficked Highway 64. During peak travel periods, westbound traffic often backs up beyond Chatham Memorial Cemetery. Depending on the location of these access points, both westbound and eastbound lanes are routinely obstructed for entry and exit along Highway 64. Given these circumstances, it is challenging to ascertain how a travel center could operate safely under current or even normal traffic conditions without exacerbating potential hazards.
